What does family mean to you?

The word “family” could be a definition, but your real family is actually a part of you which runs in your blood with happiness , joy and respect. Family is everything that you have. They are the ones who actually stay by your side even when no one there for you. Family means nobody gets left behind, or forgotten.

Reasons

· Parents are spending less time with their children

o Busy with jobs which causes lack of attention towards their child
o To earn extra income  for children to have better education
o Single parent families may need extra time to work or even two or more jobs causing lesser time with their children 

· Increase of elderlys at homes

o Families taking their elderlys for granted (15% of Elderlys in Singapore)
o Families thinking that their elderlys are useless or a burden (15% of Elderlys in Singapore)
o Abandonment of elderlys (70% of Elderlys in Singapore)

Solutions

o Parents should free up more time to spend with their children
o You should have at least one meal with your family everyday
o Should have a family outing during weekends at least once a week
o Go on a holiday!
o Teenagers nowadays spent too much time on the Internet and do not bond with their family thus they should spend less time on the Internet and spend more time with their family
